To other BMX events around Australia and the third round of the Pine Rivers Summer Series in Queensland produced some notable achievements. 123 riders attacked the track at Pine Rivers BMX Club on Thursday Night (January 25) and the hosting club had a very successful evening.

Out of the ten classes that raced, five victories went to riders from Pine Rivers. But that isn’t much of a surprise especially when the Superclass Men’s race had all 12 riders coming from the club.

The victorious Pine River riders were Fraser Vaughan (9-11 Boys), Thomas Tucker (12-15 Boys and Junior Cruiser), Hamish Botfield (16-24 Men’s) and Will Coombes in the heavily contested Superclass men’s!

The remaining five victories went to Jed Lillicrap (Bayside BMX Club) 8 Boys, Ashlee Morris (Caboolture BMX Club) 14+ Ladies Open Wheel, Steve Ewart  25+ Expert Wheel class and Jasmine Standish 8-13 girls (Sunshine Coast BMX Club). Finally, Travis Murphy won the 25+ Open Wheel Novice riding from the Suncoast Hinterland BMX Club.

Last but not least in our event wrap up for this week is the second round of the Oxley Cycles Shootout Series in Queensland. Saturday January 27 had 478 riders head to the Hinterland BMX Cub for the second instalment of this six-round monster series.

Corey Frieswyk (Walkerston BMX Club) was unstoppable in the Superclass 14+ Men’s winning all of his moto’s with Canadian international Alex Tougas close on his wheels. Sara Jones (Caboolture BMX Club) also had a perfect performance taking out the top spot in the Superclass 14+ Women’s.

There were 48 competitive classes in this massive day of racing and there were some outstanding results backing up from the Pine River Summer Series. Fraser Vaughan is one of these heroes winning the 10 Boys class as well as Steve Ewart who followed through with another perfect run in the 35+ Masters Open Wheel.

Charlotte Guy from Ashmore BMX Club had a great day as well on the Hinterland BMX track winning the 11 Girls as well as the 11-12 Girls Cruiser. To see the full results of this round, click HERE!
