TRAINING AND ACCREDITATION OF BMX COACHES IN AUSTRALIA
BMX Australia’s coach education and development program aims to train and accredit coaches at all levels so that they can fully support the nurturing and development of BMX riders.
There are 3 levels of coaching accreditation in BMX. These are:
BICYCLE MOTOCROSS (BMX) COACHING
- The Beginner BMX Coaching Course is an entry-level course where the aim of the coach is to increase participation and encourage riders. The rider will be Riding for FUN while learning the fundamental skills of BMX riding.

- The Level 1 BMX is a coaching course where the aim of the Coach is to prepare and introduce Riders to racing including building fitness, developing and refining skills. The Rider will be at the Riding to RACE development stage and be at Club level through to State/Territory championship level.

- The Level 2 BMX is a coaching course where the aim of the Coach is to develop and support higher performing Riders who are competing at National Championships. The Rider will be at the Racing to WIN development stage and a Coach at this level has the underpinning knowledge for coaching an emerging elite young athlete who seeks to represent Australia at Junior or Elite BMX National and International events.

- The BMX Freestyle Coach is a coaching course to coach beginner riders to develop and advance their Freestyle BMX skills. The training program includes generic coaching principles and their application to Freestyle BMX coaching.
