October 1 and 2 had 12 kids from a range of different clubs in Victoria turn up to enjoy their school holidays by riding BMX at a Sports Camps Australia event.

Led by Adrian Bognar and Joshua Callan, the Casey BMX Club played host to riders with various abilities all with one goal in mind, to learn and experience BMX.

“The event was great,” Bognar said.

“We had 11 kids who were from different clubs and we had one brand new start up rider who had never raced before. He loved every bit of it and has since signed up.”

Teaching a range of skills including starting, cornering, pumping and manuals. Bognar explained that the event went really well with spare time after to allow for practice of what they had learnt.

“We had beautiful weather and Josh and I enjoyed coaching. We realised that it’s a great tool to try and get more membership at Casey and it’s something we are looking more in to.

Similar to our Ride In2BMX events, Sports Camp Australia are dedicated to help promote participation in the country.

A successful way?

Give new riders the opportunity to try the sport out for themselves and let them find out how much fun it really is.
