BMX Australia (BMXA), Cycling Australia (CA) and Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) have undertaken a number of recent discussions in conjunction with the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) to look at ways in which the three cycling sports organisations may work together collaboratively to benefit our combined membership bases and for the broader community base of cycling participants in Australia.

All three cycling organisations agree that there are opportunities for improved cooperation, collaboration and governance outcomes. Greater alignment in these areas will be advantageous to the three organisations, our stakeholders and the sports as a whole.

There are many options for how the collaboration and alignment may take place. The ASC has commissioned an external consultant to assist the three organisations and in the near future there will be opportunities for stakeholders within each organisation to provide constructive input into any proposals for how the sports may work together in the future.

Foremost among those discussions will be consideration of how we use our collective strength to provide better outcomes, advantages and services to our members and provide for a stronger and more active cycling community in Australia.
