BMX Australia embarks on bold new chapter, launches vibrant new brand

A youthful, impactful and forward-looking rebrand of BMX Australia has been launched today to compliment the future direction of one of Australia’s most exciting sports.

BMX Australia is recognised by the Australian Sports Commission as the national sporting organisation for BMX racing and freestyle BMX. Now with a newly elected President and innovative CEO at the helm, the organisation is moving forward with a new logo, and soon to be launched website.

The new direction comes as part of a strategy to compliment the continually evolving BMX Australia identity.

The new direction comes as part of a strategy to compliment the continually evolving BMX Australia identity.

Looking to reflect the effervescent nature of the sport and its members, the new logo suite embraces new colour ways, creating a bold new look for the sport. The rebrand also sees the creation of a master logo that will be used by BMX Australia, with BMX racing and freestyle BMX set to be defined by individualised logos.

New logos have also been created for the BMX Australia National Series and National Championships, which have been integrated from the master logo.

In addition to this BMX Australia will launch a new website in line with the rebrand. The website will provide the sport with a professional digital platform that will enhance the user experience and provide a valuable resource for members and BMX riders alike. BMX Australia President Neil Cameron praised the new look as a step in the right direction.

“The new look of BMX is a positive step towards providing our members and BMX riders around the country a progressive and individual identity,” Cameron said.

“While we have much work to do in moving our sport forward, ensuring that we have a brand that our members are proud to represent and website that reflects our vibrancy is a fantastic first step.”

Meanwhile CEO Martin Shaw praised the work done in order to launch the brand in time for the 2017 national championships.

“There has been significant time and effort put into creating our new brand. The project has been led by ESQ Collective with assistance from our staff and media management company Sports Communication Australia,” Shaw said.

“I think the new logo is a strong representation of BMXA and importantly our new website will increase member engagement, help us increase participation and create a content solution for news, results, social media, multimedia and events.

“It’s an exciting time to be involved at BMX Australia.”

The new BMX Australia brand will be rolled out over the coming weeks, with the new website to go live prior 2017 BMX Australia National Championships at the Sleeman Sports Complex in Brisbane.
