Does your club have a dad that goes above and beyond for his family and the sport?
Nominate them now and give them the perfect gift for their Father’s Day!
There is something unique about a BMX dad. Their time, passion and dedication to not only their child’s dreams, but also their club’s are second to none.
From long sweaty days spent at working bees, to the time and care that goes into repairing and maintaining whips, the BMXA family’s dads are heroes and deserve recognition.
There are times when these countless hours go unnoticed and unappreciated. So here is your chance to give them the spotlight they deserve!
Every Father’s Day, Community Sport announces their Phillips Community Sports Dad of the Year.
Whether it’s a dad that coaches his local junior team, helps the local sports club with funding or support, or simply plays competitive sport on the weekend, now is the chance to highlight a father who’s an inspiration to your local sports club and community.
Alongside getting crowned as the 2019 Sports Dad of the Year, if won by a BMXA dad, he will also receive a $5,000 Rebel Sports voucher to donate to his club!
By simply nominating, you can go in the running to win some great Phillips grooming prizes to give to dad on Father’s Day!
Last year’s winner was father of 8, Bill Soliola who was the under 8’s coach, first aider, photographer, fundraiser, manager, committee member and the regular go to man who never says no for the Berala Bears JRLFC.
“The award was for everyone. What motivates me are all the families. Volunteering to me is about giving and not expecting anything back. Making life easier for others and putting smiles on children’s faces,” Soliola said.
To get involved, people simply need to go to sportsdads.com.au/community and explain in 100 words or less why they think their chosen sports dad should be crowned the Community Sports Dad of the Year.
Nominations are now open, so don’t forget to log on to sportsdads.com.au/community.
Nominations and entries end on Sunday August 18, and the winner will be announced before Father’s Day, Sunday September 1. See the website for full terms and conditions.
