Many hours and lots of blood, sweat and tears go into organising a BMX event, and BAD BOY’s Tales from the Berm covers it all!
The BMX community plays host to some of the most dedicated volunteers on the planet, and a group of BMX admirers in the North West of Western Australia epitomises that.
Friday night June 21, the Karratha BMX track was looking the worse for wear. A serious downpour of rain left the club full of puddles and with many doubting whether the Smarter than Smoking North West Super Series round could take place the next day.
But with the power of hands, and a little help from the weather, the track went from puddles to paradise.
This paradise played host to nearly 200 riders, with the battle for the top spot in the North West, up for grabs.
Competing in the women’s superclass was home dirt rider Jade Keremelevich, who produced a clean sweeping performance to comprehensively win the day ahead of Byford’s Shayla Winwood and fellow club rider, Gemma Rodgers.
The men’s ledger was no different, with Jackson Tatham taking the line honours every time the superclass gate dropped, beating home Karratha riders Blake White and Patrick Kiehne.
