The third round of the 2018 national series will be held at Satellite City BMX Club in Darwin, NT from Saturday June 23 to Sunday June 24. This event will mark the first time the series employs ‘Superclass’ racing in place of junior and elite rounds seen at UCI sanctioned events.

As a result, a new Superclass series will begin at the event in Darwin and riders aged 14+ will compete for victory. Age group classes will continue their series point scores from the first two rounds at Penrith (NSW) and Frankston (Victoria) BMX Clubs.

The junior and elite class series will resume at Nerang BMX Club in July, which will also be the third and final round of that particular series.

Like the first two rounds of the series, day one of the event will see registration open from 1pm to 5pm local time. Saturday June 23 will be the only day riders are able to register, there will be no registration on Sunday June 24.

From 2pm on the Saturday practice sessions will take place, with one-hour brackets provided for riders aged eight years to 16-years and those in the 17+ and Masters age groups. Superclass riders will have a 90-minute practice session, with the 8m start hill closed for the first 30 minutes.

Sprocket riders will be last on track for practice between 5:30pm and 6:00pm local time. It should also be noted that there will not be a specific Cruiser practice. Cruiser riders will be permitted to ride during specific age practice slots.

As has been the case in rounds one and two of the national series, racing will commence on the Saturday. Moto one at Satellite City will be run from 6:30pm – 7:30pm, with BMXA officials having the discretion to add more racing should they see fit.

Sunday May 24 will see warm up run from 8:30am to 10:15am, before racing re-commences from 10:30am for remaining motos, qualifiers and finals.
