With support from the City of Gold Coast, the next stop on the 2020 national series train takes riders to the Gold Coast of Nerang on February 29.

A fantastic strip that has hosted multiple top tier events, will do so once again as riders from around the country make their way to take on the Queenslanders.

The first round of the 2020 BMXA National Series kicks off at the world class BMX track in Shepparton, Victoria.

Coming hot off hosting the 2019 BMXA BAD BOY National Championships, Shepparton BMX Club will once again showcase Australia’s BMX talent alongside hosting the first two rounds of the 2020 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup on the SAME weekend!

Spectator areas (as indicated on the map) will include covered areas with grandstands and seating provided. As a result, NO portable/fold up chairs or pop up tents will be permitted into the BMX track.

Tents may be brought into velodrome/pit area for the National series but must be removed at the end of Friday’s racing. Tents will be permitted to be dropped off and taken into the velodrome  between 2pm-4pm on Thursday (30th) and Friday (31st).  They may not at other times.

The penultimate stage of the 2019 BMXA BAD BOY National Series is heading to the Southern City BMX Club in Tasmania for an epic one-day spectacle of BMX racing.

Tickets are now available for purchase online. Parents/Spectators must purchase tickets. Riders will have free entry for the duration of the event.

BIKE STORAGE

BMX Australia has hired a storage box at the track in Zolder for Australian team riders to store their bikes during the event.  The storage facility is secure and is for Australian team bikes only.

Space is limited and should you wish to leave your bike in the storage, please email events@bmxaustralia.com.au.


INTERNATIONAL RIDERS LICENCE

In accordance with international rules set out by the UCI, BMXA members must have a current international licence.

To obtain an International Licence, a member must first be a member of Cycling Australia (which can be completed on the same form)

Applications must be submitted to Cycling Australia one month prior to departure. If the application is received 2 weeks or less from the date of departure, a late fee will be payable.

BMXA members attending the 2019 world championships are eligible for an ‘international add on’ component to their existing membership specifically for international travel.

This includes sports injury and travel insurance coverage at race meetings outside of Australia

2019 BMX Australia BAD BOY National Championships

 


ABOUT

The 2019 BMX Australia BAD BOY National Championships was held at the Shepparton BMX Club in Northern Victoria from May 20-25.

Located just two hours outside of Melbourne, Shepparton has proved to be a hotspot of BMX competition for a number of years. Regular hosts of the BMXA National Series, the club also hosted the national titles back in 2014 and 2010.

With support from the Victorian State Government and Greater Shepparton City Council, it is expected that there will be 2000 entrants for Australia’s 2019 premier BMX race week .

Please note the following:

  • Space around the track has been allocated based on the number of riders from each state.
  • Weather-protected marquees will be provided around the track for spectators – no personal tents may be erected within the track precinct. If public marquees are erected inside the track precinct, they will be asked to be removed directly.
  • Public spectator space is available within the velodrome area as per the site map. Spectators will have access to this area from 9am on Monday May 20.
    A drop-off area will be available, however all vehicles must park in the public car park once equipment has been dropped off.

PARKING

Parking personnel will be on duty to direct you to BMX parking.
Please note the following:

    • Parking will cost $2.00 per vehicle.
    • Parking will be available in specified parking bays only.
      NO parking is permitted on road kerbs, medium strips etc. Parking officials will be on duty during the event and BMXA takes no responsibility for cars parked illegally. 
    • Cars with trailers will be required to park in the equestrian centre.
