Friday March 31, 2017. Vale – Bill Dunkley

On Friday morning 31 March the sport of BMX Racing in Australia lost one of it’s longest-serving, most liked officials, Bill Dunkley. Bill passed away suddenly in the early hours of Friday morning and BMX lost one of it’s originals.

Bill and his wife Lorraine have been the backbone of BMXNSW for over 25 years and have given enormously to the sport, always with a wise word, a great smile and a no-nonsense attitude. Bill has worked on many an Australian titles for BMX Australia along with being the BMXNSW National Officiating Officer for many years.

BMX Australia send their heartfelt condolences to Lorraine and her children. We have few words to assist them in this time of grief but can only offer our sympathies and prayers to help them on the long road ahead.

The sport has lost a great man. Some of us have lost a great friend.
