A Parent and the NSW Volunteer of the year for 2017.. What a legend!
Relentless commitment and effort to assisting in the maintenance of Penrith BMX Club, Steve Wilson’s never die attitude is what makes him a stand out from the rest and we aren’t the only ones to notice!
In 2017, Wilson was awarded the NSW Volunteer of the year for 2017 and we know why.
Heading to the track several times a week, Wilson helps out with the maintenance on the track and around it to make sure that on race days, it’s in tip top condition.
The success of our first round of Nationals on February 17-18 had a lot to do with the members of Penrith BMX Club and their volunteers who do all the small things to put the big picture together.
Alongside Club President Tim Armstrong, Steve spent 10-12 hours a day working on the track so that it would be the perfect kick-start of our seven-round National Series.
But the greatest quality of all is that Wilson doesn’t just do this for the big events. He is an all year round volunteer who is the first to put his hand up and the last to put it down.
We love celebrating our outstanding individuals in our #BMXAfamily, if you know of someone who deserves this recognition than feel free to nominate him/her by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, or by sending us a message on our social media platforms.
