The penultimate round of the 2018 BMXA National Series is set to heat up the nation’s capital and BMX snapper Charlotte Squires will be there to capture all the action.
As far as epic imagery goes, BMX is one of the most camera friendly sports there is.
And that’s just one of the reasons budding BMX photographer Charlotte Squires has jumped behind the lens.
Another big reason is her love of the sport itself – and those that partake – the #BMXAFamily.
“My family live and breath BMX,” Squires told BMXA as she prepared to make the trip from Adelaide up to Canberra for round 6 of the national series at Tuggeranong.
“We joined Happy Valley BMX club about eight years ago and before long we had been sucked it to the world of BMX.
“My husband Jason and I have two sons, Jake (13) and Blake (10 ) that both love to race.
“We love traveling all over Australia for races and one day would love to go to worlds.
“BMX is an awesome family sport and one of the best parts of racing is the friendships that not only the kids make but us adults as well.”
While she has only really just begun her photography career, Squires has taken to her new pursuit like a sprocket to a new bike.
“I’ve been snapping for only 4 month so I still have loads to learn,” Squires said.
“I started after I found a cheap camera online. I picked it up, went straight to the track and haven’t stopped.
“So far it’s been a really good experience, I am getting lots of positive feedback.”
There will be over 475 riders attacking the track at Tuggeranong with riders of all ages and abilities strutting their stuff.
And Squires will try and capture as many of them as possible before loading a gallery to here Facebook page – Squires BMX Shots.
