We can’t take all the credit for our 2018 National Championships, here’s why…

The success of our 2018 National Championships didn’t rely solely on the efforts of our team here at BMX Australia. The team at Bunbury BMX Club should all be commended for their outstanding hard work in providing a fantastic facility.

One individual in particular who was a stand-out before, during and after the event goes to the canteen manager, Casey Street and she is our Legend of the Month!

Speaking with Leith Spence (President of Bunbury BMX Club), Street and her husband Scott were “absolutely under the pump getting everything ready to help us host the Aussies”.

As Canteen Manager, Street had the major responsibility of preparing the tent which needed to be approved by the local council and the Department of Health as well as organising helpers and the supplies for every day of nationals.

Working consistently from dawn till dark every day over a two-week period, Street and her team worked tirelessly to prepare and serve food for the national championships which brought thousands of riders and spectators to their track.

“Alongside the organising of the canteen,” Spence explains.

“Casey was down there for our track maintenance on the tools having a crack to get it to the condition it was.”

The Bunbury Canteen was extremely successful during the #BMXANats18 bringing in over $18,000!  All going towards the clubs maintenance and future facilities.
