Mini Wheeler Coordinator

The Mini Wheeler Coordinator Course has been developed by BMX Australia.

The course provides essential information regarding the Mini Wheeler program and develops coordination and coaching skills for BMXA members who wish to get involved with the future superstars of BMX within Australia!

The theme of the program is Riding for Funwhile learning the fundamental skills of riding on a balance bike. The coordinators role is to increase participation and encourage BMXA’s youngest riders in a fun and energetic atmosphere.

The Course guidelines outline the roles and responsibilities of a Mini Wheeler coordinator, where program sessions can be safely held and suggests a range of activities to use.

Why Become a Mini Wheeler Coordinator?

BMXA members who are 14 years and older can become a mini wheeler coordinator so they can assist our youngest riders learn the fundamentals of riding a balance bike so they can enjoy riding at BMX tracks across Australia.

The course will also assist BMX clubs create mini wheeler programs and increase their mini wheeler and club memberships.

Note: The Mini Wheeler Coordinator sits alongside any future BMXA coaching accreditation’s you progress onto.

Prerequisite requirements for the BMXA Mini Wheeler online course

1) Hold a current BMXA Open or Volunteer membership and be over 14 years of age.

2) First Aid – you must have a First Aid certification (including current CPR) of at least HLTAID003 or its equivalent.

For co-ordinators who are 18 years and over:

3) You must have completed the Child Protection short course in Play By the Rules.

4) Working with Children Check (WWCC) from your state or territory – THIS IS

A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT

Your Mini Wheeler accreditation will NOT become valid and you will not appear on the BMXA list of valid coaches in your state or territory on the BMXA website or BMXA APP, until BMXA has received and processed your WWCC.

Login to your MyBMX member profile by using your BMXA membership number and password.

Select the “Coach/Official” tab, and select “Courses”

Read the Mini Wheeler’s Manual and start the course!
