National Series Day one wrapped up at Penrith

BMX Australia’s National Series has kicked off under sweltering conditions at Penrith BMX club with most classes competing their first two motos in what shapes as the most exciting season in national series history.

Temperatures reached the mid-30’s as more than 500 riders from as far afield as Malaysia, Japan, New Zealand and throughout Australia took to the technical track in Sydney’s west in a bid to qualify for Sunday’s finals.

There were a tonne of standout performers today including moto winners, Cameron Gatt (10 boy’s), Noah Elton and Joshua Jolly (12B), Tahlia Marsh and Shannon Petre (15G) and 17-24 local man Kyle Jaehne as well as Scott Gaskin from Southside BMX Club.

There were also three international moto winners on the track today with New Zealanders Holly Woodcock-Takura, Bennet Greenough and Tasman Wakelin making their voices heard on Aussie soil.
