As of January 1, 2017 there will be a new BMX Australia (BMXA) Rule book.

The document contains a number of changes, however they are easily identifiable and are highlighted in RED. BMXA appreciates that the transition and comprehension of these rules may take some time.

It is important to note that any technical guide and/or flyers that have been published prior to this Rule Book update being released, will remain current and that those respective events and series’ will be run under the rules and regulations referenced in those technical guides.

Put simply, due to the timing of the update to the Rule Book, there is no expectations that the changes made will be enforced at 2017 events and series’ that are already governed by an exisitng technical guide.

As an example:

The Grands Assault National Series and Nerang International events will be run under the 2016 ARA rule book. I.e. A class riders will be paid a prize pool as per the 2016 rule book.

However all new technical guides and event flyers that are published after January 1, 2017 must reference and comply with the 2017 ARA Rule Book.

In summary BMXA would request that all events transition into the new rules by the end of February, with the exception of the events and series’ for 2017 that already have a published technical guide.
