The 2019 BMXA BAD BOY National Championships may have come to an end, but the thirst for BMX can never be quenched, as 19 events around the country were recorded across the first weekend of June.
From the Southern City BMX Club in Tasmania to Southside in WA, a week of nationals racing wasn’t enough for the family as clubs around Australia got their weekend fix of the sport. Below are some of the moments that stood out int his week’s Tales from the Berm by BAD BOY.
Mackay Kennards Hire
First out of the gate is the club located in Queensland’s North as over 140 riders took to the track on Saturday.
Riders from across Queensland’s northern clubs got their share of the action with one national’s competitor from down south finding the top spot in her class. Logan City’s Ashleigh Gunn finished third in the 17-24 women’s class in Shepparton and backed it up last weekend with a strong win in the superclass event.

CHBMX Series 1 – Rd8 Castle Hill BMX Club
Another event that caught the Tales from the Berm’s eye was Castle Hills’ event, as over 100 riders took to the strip. After finishing fourth in the national junior elite men’s final, local home dirt hero Aston Wypych-Coles took the line honours in the 17-24 men’s class.
Joining him as one of 2019’s top junior elite men was fellow clubmate Harrison Craig, who used his confidence after coming sixth in Shepparton to finish second behind Wypych-Coles.

Tropic Thunder 2019 – Satellite City BMX Club
Ready to capture the excitement in the Northern Territory was Satellite City’s 2019 Tropic Thunder. Unfortunately, the club postponed the event due to track maintenance but while we are talking about the Darwin club, why not enter for stage 4 of the 2019 BMXA BAD BOY National Series? ENTER HERE!
