DK Factory Racing Team have linked with beyondblue for a fundraising effort at this year’s national championships, and the team will be going all blue come race day

The biggest BMX event in the country, the 2018 BMX Australia National Championships, will light up the town of Bunbury next week, and standing out among the riders will be DK Factory Racing Team, who will don a special edition DK race kit in support of beyondblue.

The team aims to raise awareness in BMX for beyondblue, and share the message that it is ok to ask for help.

Riders Jye Hombsch, Aaron Nottle, Kyle Hill and Corey Stafford will switch their regular race colours for the blue hues of beyondblue for their first moto come Saturday March 24. Following that, the unique kits will be auctioned off, with the team aiming to raise $2,000 in the process.

The catalyst for this fundraising effort was the loss of young rider Travis Kramer, a real character of the sport farewelled by the BMX community. When DK team manager Stafford heard the sad news, he knew immediately that something needed to be done.

“When we heard of the passing of Travis, we had to do something,” Stafford said.

“We couldn’t imagine what the family went through, and we all decided right there and then that we had to try and raise awareness for beyondblue.

“It’s ok to ask for help.”

The team will race in their unique kits for their respective first motos at this year’s national championships. They will also be on display throughout the week at the DK tent prior to the team racing in them.

For those eager to get involved, there will be two methods to place a bid:

  1. Forms will be available at the DK tent under each rider’s kit. All you need to do is add your name, phone number and bid amount for the form of the rider of your choice. Your bid must be higher than the one before it.
  2. Email Corey Stafford at with your details and bid amount for the rider of your choice.

Bids will be open until the end of racing on Saturday March 25. If you are the highest bidder, you will need to transfer your bid amount to the DK Racing fundraising page:

All bids, no matter how large or small, will be appreciated. You can also donate to the page at any time, with any amount to support the cause.

Help the team reach their fundraising goal!
