With the 2018 UCI BMX World Championships kicking off in just over a week (June 5-9), let’s see how our Aussie riders are preparing before they make the trip to Baku, Azerbaijan.
Over the weekend we had a score of racing around the country with riders producing outstanding results before they pack their bags for the 2018 World Championships in Baku, check it out.
Caboolture May Madness
Starting off our wrap, we head to Queensland where Caboolture BMX Club held their ‘May Madness’ on Saturday May 26. Over 300 riders were out on the track racing in over 40 competitive and paticipatory classes.
There were a heap of riders producing great results and some of those first place riders are representing our country at worlds.
– Sara Jones: Women’s Superclass. (Caboolture BMX Club)
– Jed Lillicrap: 8-boy’s. (Bayside BMX Club)
– Bailey Mills: 12-boy’s. (Bayside BMX Club)
– Thomas Tucker: 13-boy’s + 13-14 Cruiser. (Pine Rivers BMX Club)

Island BMX rumble on Jacks Hill
Next, we head to the Island BMX Club in eastern Queensland where they held their “Rumble on Jack’s Hill’.
Over 50 riders were battling it out for the top spot and some riders were ready to rumble.
One rider in particular who will be heading to Baku is Hunter Boschen from Townsville BMX Club. Competing in the 10-boy’s, Boschen put his skills to the test and came away with a fantastic day of racing winning five of six motos to win on overall points.

Conquer the Valley 18
Lilydale BMX Club held their ‘Conquer the Valley 2018’ on Sunday May 27 and it was a jolly time for the Jolly’s.
Alongside 282 other BMX riders, Wayne and Joshua Jolly have kept their fine form in-sync as they prepare for the world stage commencing next Tuesday June 5.
Winning their respective classes convincingly (Wayne: 50+ Mens Open Wheel, Joshua: 11-12 Cruiser), the Jolly’s will be top contenders as they compete against the rest of the best.

The events above weren’t the only ones on over the weekend with Walkerston BMX Club having their Crocodile Creek Classic and Batemans Bay having their open day.
Walkerston had over 100 riders battling it out on Saturday and their results can be found by CLICKING HERE.
