Entries for the 2017 BMX Australia (BMXA) National Championships to be held at the Sleeman Sports Complex in Brisbane from Monday April 24 to Sunday April 30 have opened, with an entry guide provided to assist prospective competitors.

This year’s national titles are set to take on a revised look around the track with a greater focus on the rider and spectator experience, especially in the ‘BMX Village’ which is being introduced as a central hub for the seven-day long event.

The team behind this year’s nationals has been headed up by BMXA Events Manager Joel Ulbricht, who emphasized the amount of effort that has been put in with the hope of creating a successful event.

“Throughout the past four months there have been hundreds of hours dedicated to the success of the national championships at Sleeman Sports Complex,” Ulbricht said.

“We have been looking at many different aspects of this event from the moment the riders and spectators arrive. Everything from food options, parking and how the track will be maintained has been looked at. It’s going to be a great experience for all.

“This year we also have a new format with the introduction of the ‘BMX Village’. This will be the central point for patrons when they are not trackside and will have everything from food, drinks, merchandise and pro shops.

“The BMX Village will be under a shaded marquee, so will also be a great place to beat the sun and hang out over a coffee.”

Meanwhile the on track action will see no less than six classes racing for glory.  Open for entry are the Sprockets, 20” Challenge Classes, 24” Cruiser Classes, Masters, Championship Classes and Retro Classes.

Entries for the BMXA National Championships will close at 11pm AEDT on April 1, with late entries closing on Friday April 7.

Details of entry requirements for each class can be found in the entry guide for the event. YOU CAN DOWNLOWD THE ENTRY GUIDE HERE.
