Junior BMX riders, do you see yourself representing your country one day at the Olympic Games? Are you the next Anthony Dean or Lauren Reynolds?

BMX Australia encourages you to kick off your dream by applying for the Sport Australia Hall of Fame 2018 Scholarship and Mentoring Program. The Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship & Mentoring Program was introduced in 2006 and since has become one of the most profound junior sporting programs in not only Australia but the world. The program provides upcoming athletes with the chance to connect with some of the countries greatest sports role models and be inspired to reach their full potential.

Junior athletes are provided with some exciting opportunities including being personally mentored by inducted SAHOF members. Previous scholarship winners have had to privilege of working with the likes of Catherine Freeman OAM, Susie O’Neill OAM, Adam Gilchrist AM, Bruce McAvaney OAM, Andrew Gaze AM,  Liz Ellis AM and more!

The program also consists of some other great benefits including;

• A $5,000 sporting expenses grant

• An on-stage presentation of your scholarship at the SAHOF Induction & Awards Gala Dinner at the Palladium at Crown in Melbourne.

• 1x Etihad Airways international return economy flight (for sporting use only)

• Usage of ‘The Sport Australia Hall of Fame Scholarship Holder’ logo

The program has seen great success over the years, with 20 past scholarship recipients representing Australia at the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games and 17 at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Chairman John Bertrand AO who was mentor to 2013 Scholarship holder and 2012 Olympic Silver Medallist, Olivia Price, said; “the Mentoring is a money can’t buy opportunity. The impact of the Mentoring on our Scholarship Holders has been profound”.
