BMX South Australia, alongside Happy Valley BMX Club, put on a fantastic bushfire fundraiser over the weekend with the whole community rallying behind a worthy cause.

Happy Valley played host to BMXSA’s Bushfire Fundraiser on Sunday with close to 120 competitors partaking in a competitive day of racing.

As outlined in last week’s article on Peter Lyons – CLICK HERE to check that out – all entry fees for the event will be donated to the South Australian Country Fire Service and the families affected by the devastating fires.

On top of this, Happy Valley has donated all funds from food sold as well as a raffle towards the cause, truly exemplifying the key values of the BMXA family.

BMXSA secretary Helen Empson said the day went off without a hitch with lots of people in the community volunteering their time.

“Even the first rain since September couldn’t stop the event going ahead!” Empson stated.

With the final figure to be announced later this week, BMXSA and Happy Valley have already raised close to $1,100 on entry fees alone. A fantastic event and result all round, congratulations to all involved.
