BMX racing in Australia is a fierce contest of determination, respect and a pure love of the sport. Our Aussie riders over the first weekend of September let loose on the dirt leaving nothing behind as they gunned for the finish line.

From the north western ramparts to the east coast of Australia, BMX was on the menu and riders were hungry. Read on!

2018 NWSS Rd4 Hedland BMX Club

The fourth and final round of the 2018 North West Super Series in WA kicks off our weekend wrap with 171 riders ripping it up at the Hedland BMX Club.

There were 24 competitive and participatory classes on show and didn’t they produce a spectacle as the riders were all eager for the gates to drop and to find the top of the podium.

Home dirt hero, Jasmine Kilmartin finished off a stellar series with a comprehensive performance in the women’s superclass. Along similar lines was Jackson Tatham from Karratha BMX Club who also had a successful day racing in the men’s superclass.

Redlands Shredfest 2018

Heading across the country to Redlands BMX Club in Queensland, over 200 riders rocked up to compete in the aptly named event, the 2018 Shredfest.

Leading the shredders was the men and women superclass events. Continuing his fine form in 2018 is Matt Krasevskis from Ispwich West Moreton BMX Club who sat atop the podium in front of Izaac Kennedy (Logan City BMX Academy) and Kye Affoo from Pine Rivers.

Beenleigh’s Des’ree Barnes also had a cracking day on track beating home Monique Smith from New Zealand and Kiana Botfield from Pine Rivers BMX Club to take the line honours in the women’s superclass.

Playing host to the rest of the country, the Redland riders were eager to show whose boss on their home dirt and the following heroes did just that!

Southside Rd2 Week 8

Back over to Western Australia and Southside BMX Club are at it again with another batch of weekend racing.

Leading the way for the club on their home dirt was Taj Shroj in the 8-years, Oliver Hogan in the 9-years and Mena Banks in the open girl’s class.

BMXWA 2018 Super Series Rd9 Wanneroo BMX Club

Wrapping up our action from the weekend is the Wanneroo BMX Club who held the ninth round of the BMXWA 2018 Super Series.

On Sunday, 360 riders from around WA came together to compete against one another and put themselves in the chance of obtaining valuable series points.

Headlining the event was the men and women’s superclass divisions with some notable names going head-to-head.

The 2018 men’s elite national series champion, Bradley Game took on the likes of fellow clubman (and Olympian), Khalen Young. The pair also had Caleb Datson from Cockburn in their midst and the results read Game, Datson and Young on the podium.

The women’s superclass was just as exciting with Southside’s Kate Taylor beating the pack with Felicity Mann (Hills BMX Club) in second and fellow Southsider, Bianca Campbell in third.

Following the headliners were some notable performances which are listed below. These riders never took their eyes off the finish line and crossed it first every time they touched the track.
