With a maiden Olympics under his belt, Gold Coast based Bodi Turner is set to return to his home state of Victoria for the Garden State’s biggest BMX weekend of the year on February 4-5.

Turner will headline a host of elite Australian BMX riders as the Chambikx/Probikx UCI and Grands Assault National Series events are contested on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The 2016 Olympian will not have everything his own way however with round one winners Matt Juster (Chambikx/Probikx UCI) and Tristan Kronk (Grands Assault) entered, along with reigning national series champion Josh Callan from Melbourne and Queensland’s Corey Frieswyk, who won the elite men’s national title in 2013 and 2015.

There are five local riders in action, with Cooper Bromley and Josh West joined by veterans Levi Collins, Brandon May and Tim Austin.

In other events, reigning elite women’s national and national series champion Leanna Curtis will take on Australia’s most prodigious talent Saya Sakakibara in the Grands Assault event on Sunday. Sakakibara will ride in the junior elite category in Saturday’s Chambikx/Probikx UCI round.

Round two of the BMXA Chambikx/Probikx UCI series will be held on Saturday February 4 (racing starts at 1145am), while round two of the Grands Assault National Series will follow the next day on Sunday February 5 (racing from 945am).

Both events will be live streamed via BMXA TV.
